Understanding Myopia in Children
Myopia happens when your child’s eyeball is too long from front to back. It can also develop when the cornea, the clear window at the front of the eye, is curved too steeply. When light enters your child’s eye, the rays fall just short of the retina, the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye.

Would recommend Dr. Jenna Bacerra to anyone of all ages! Previous eye doctors at corporate chains rushed through my eye exam but Dr. Bacerra described everything with great attention. My time went past 5 because I had so many questions but my dr. and the sweet lady that helped me with my paperwork reassured me it was okay 🙂

Customer Beware! This place is a total scam. They lie to you about your insurance to force you into paying a ton out of pocket and at the same time double bill your insurance for the same services that you just paid out of pocket.

I spoke to the owner. It was a great call. Definitely miscommunication which led to confusion and red flags. Eye Care center is not a scam. I remain a customer of Eye Care Center and look forward to continuing to use them for my eye care needs in the future.

The entire appointment was great. The office is located in a mall. Easy to find and plenty of parking. I was seen by the Med-tech as soon as we arrived. He was very kind and professional. As soon as the tech was finished his testing I went to see the DR. DR Albina was wonderful. He totally knew my vision situation and spoke to both my wife and I. It was a refreshing experience because he, in just a few minutes knew exactly what I have be dealing with for almost 40 years. He is going to stay in contact with me even though this was a one time visit set up by Veterans Evaluation Services. I highly recommend DR. Albina!

I highly recommend this eye care center. Dr. Park took the time to thoroughly explain my myopia and recommended Ortho-K lenses as a treatment option. Since starting Ortho-K, I’ve experienced noticeable improvement in my vision after removing the lenses each morning. I cannot express how thankful I am to have found Dr. Park! I’ve never been able to see good even with glasses. I had suspicions about keratoconus for years but wasn’t diagnosed before. One my first appointment, he immediately suspected it and had me do some more testing. It was extremely validating to know I wasnt crazy and something was wrong. He explained in detail what it is and how to address it, which was extremely helpful. He then handled the insurance and was able to get me fitted into my first scleral lenses. I have never been able to see this clear before. I feel like im able to see a new world that I hadnt been able to before. I highly recommend seeing both Dr. Park and Dr. Albina. Dr. Albina has been treating my dry eyes and has been absolutely phenomenal as well. Overall, I would recommend the Eye Care Center to everyone!

Very nice eye care place. They take Blue Cross Blue shield Medicaid and have a good sampling of like 20-30 frames fully covered by Medicaid.

Dr. Park got me in right away and was very helpful! I was dealing with an infection in my eye that wouldn’t go away and he was knowledgeable, spoke to me with respect and understanding even when I wasn’t sure what was going on, and he checked in on me to make sure I was progressing!
I also had issues with my pharmacy not processing my prescriptions correctly. Dr. Park was easy to get in contact with to discuss the issues I was having and he even took it upon himself to call my pharmacy THREE times to make sure I got the medication I needed.
All of the staff I encountered were very friendly and quick to work with me.

Muhammad helped my mom find the best glasses and he was very attentive to her needs. My mom requires a lot of specificity for her glasses and he was very patient with us during the entire process. My husband has seen Dr.Qureshi before and we were able to book a quick appointment with her as it was a sudden accident that occurred requiring a swift intervention. During that whole experience the team was very kind, understanding, and helpful. I enjoyed that they have answers to all of our questions.

My son is 8 years old and has autism. I truly appreciate how well the entire staff was able to handle my baby. They made us comfortable, worked with any difficulties there were during his eye exam, to which there was only 1 occurrence with putting eye drops in his eyes, to which they managed to do, and just was overall pleasant. I usually don’t take the time to write reviews, but I had such a great experience I wanted to share mine. I wasn’t sure what to expect from the “Eye Care Center” because it looks fairly small from the outside but I was wondering pleasantly surprised to find an office that had top notch technology and a wonderful staff. I felt very well taken care of as a first time client and the doctor took the time to thoroughly explain some things about my eyes and his recommendations. BONUS- staff is bilingual and super friendly. Couldn’t recommend this place enough !

I highly recommend this eye care center. Dr. Park took the time to thoroughly explain my myopia and recommended Ortho-K lenses as a treatment option. Since starting Ortho-K, I’ve experienced noticeable improvement in my vision after removing the lenses each morning. I cannot express how thankful I am to have found Dr. Park! I’ve never been able to see good even with glasses. I had suspicions about keratoconus for years but wasn’t diagnosed before. One my first appointment, he immediately suspected it and had me do some more testing. It was extremely validating to know I wasnt crazy and something was wrong. He explained in detail what it is and how to address it, which was extremely helpful. He then handled the insurance and was able to get me fitted into my first scleral lenses. I have never been able to see this clear before. I feel like im able to see a new world that I hadnt been able to before. I highly recommend seeing both Dr. Park and Dr. Albina. Dr. Albina has been treating my dry eyes and has been absolutely phenomenal as well. Overall, I would recommend the Eye Care Center to everyone!

Very nice eye care place. They take Blue Cross Blue shield Medicaid and have a good sampling of like 20-30 frames fully covered by Medicaid.

When to Start and Stop Myopia Management in Children
Myopia progression is fastest in younger children, so starting myopia control as soon as possible will give the best overall results. There is lots of evidence for starting myopia control treatments from ages 6-8 years, and some evidence for starting from age 4.
Recommended Starting Ages for Treatments:
