How does Orth-k work?
Think of your cornea as the eye’s front-and-center focusing powerhouse—a clear, dome-shaped window that bends light to hit the retina just right. It’s made of flexible tissue, which is what makes Ortho-K possible. Using a corneal topographer (a fancy light-reflecting device that never touches your eye), your optometrist creates a detailed map of your cornea’s curves and contours. This map is used to craft a custom lens that fits your eye like a glove—minus the discomfort.
These specially designed lenses are worn overnight and gently reshape the front surface of your eye while you sleep. By flattening the center of the cornea, they adjust the way light enters the eye, correcting your vision temporarily—no glasses needed during the day. But here’s the catch: skip a few nights, and your cornea gradually bounces back to its original shape, taking your blurry vision with it. Consistency is key if you want to keep things crystal clear.

Would recommend Dr. Jenna Bacerra to anyone of all ages! Previous eye doctors at corporate chains rushed through my eye exam but Dr. Bacerra described everything with great attention. My time went past 5 because I had so many questions but my dr. and the sweet lady that helped me with my paperwork reassured me it was okay 🙂

Customer Beware! This place is a total scam. They lie to you about your insurance to force you into paying a ton out of pocket and at the same time double bill your insurance for the same services that you just paid out of pocket.

I spoke to the owner. It was a great call. Definitely miscommunication which led to confusion and red flags. Eye Care center is not a scam. I remain a customer of Eye Care Center and look forward to continuing to use them for my eye care needs in the future.

The entire appointment was great. The office is located in a mall. Easy to find and plenty of parking. I was seen by the Med-tech as soon as we arrived. He was very kind and professional. As soon as the tech was finished his testing I went to see the DR. DR Albina was wonderful. He totally knew my vision situation and spoke to both my wife and I. It was a refreshing experience because he, in just a few minutes knew exactly what I have be dealing with for almost 40 years. He is going to stay in contact with me even though this was a one time visit set up by Veterans Evaluation Services. I highly recommend DR. Albina!
