The Eye Care Center | Willowbrook, IL

The Willowbrook location was originally founded in 1955 by Dr. Henry Luckhardt in Westmont, and eventually became Drs. Maze and Luckhardt. In 2023, Dr. David Maze entrusted the practice to his longtime friend and colleague, Dr. Albina. The two had walked the same path—starting together at Benedictine University and continuing through optometry school. Dr. Maze is now a professor at the Memphis School of Optometry. Dr. Albina considers Dr Maze his biggest influence to become an optometrist.

Shortly after, Dr Albina had to move the Westmont practice. While searching for a new location close by, he came to find that another optometrist, Dr Les Paczkowski was planning on retiring soon. He was presented with the option of renting that same location and so he did. Dr Paczkowski had been practicing at that location since 1987, after moving it from Chicago where he had started his practice in 1976.

Taking over the Westmont office was not just a professional milestone for Dr. Albina — it was deeply personal, a full-circle moment.

From the new location, The Eye Care Center LTD now serves not only Westmont, but also the Willowbrook community.
